چکیده

Abstract Although phosphate rock has been considered as a potential new rare earth elements (REEs) resource, the recovery of REEs from is impeded by technical challenges and cost issues. This study investigated effects operation conditions on leaching efficiencies phosphorus Zhijin ore, large deposit in China. The process overtime was also studied chemical analysis, scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD). results indicated that ore were mainly present fluorapatite dolomite, had similar trends efficiency to those magnesium. Under 25 wt% phosphoric acid concentration initial pulp, weight ratio liquid solid 12 mL/g, temperature 60°C, an agitation speed 220 rpm, time 120 min, 97.8% 99.7% obtained. Most parts dissoluble substances decomposed within 30 min. Chemical SEM-EDS, XRD minerals increased following order: quartz, aluminosilicate, pyrite, fluorapatite, calcite.

Optimization of Acid Leaching of Rare-Earth Elements from Mongolian Apatite-Based Ore

Optimization of the acid leaching process for Mongolian apatite-based ore containing rare-earth elements (REEs) was studied. The ore contained approximately 10% of REEs as total rare earth oxides, and the major impurities were Ca (33% as CaO) and Fe (23% as Fe2O3). Fe bearing minerals could be removed by passing the sample through a wet high-intensity magnetic separator before leaching. After m...

Use of Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria to Leach Rare Earth Elements from Monazite-Bearing Ore

In the present study, the feasibility to use phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) to develop a biological leaching process of rare earth elements (REE) from monazite-bearing ore was determined. To predict the REE leaching capacity of bacteria, the phosphate solubilizing abilities of 10 species of PSB were determined by halo zone formation on Reyes minimal agar media supplemented with bromo cre...

Mechanical activation of phosphate concentrates to enhance dissolution efficiency of rare earth elements from a kinetic viewpoint

The Esfordi phosphate concentrate mainly contains fluorapatite, monazite, and xenotime as rare earth element (REE) minerals, accounting for 1.5% of rare earth metals. The monazite and xenotime minerals are refractory and their decomposition is only possible at high temperatures. Thus mechanical activation was used in the present work for this purpose. After 90 minutes of mechanical activation, ...
